Description: This monthly event is for the grown-ups. Why? Because, science is fun…at any age! Science After Dark provides visitors the opportunity to have fun and learn about science in a unique setting. Museum educators pick a science-related topic and build an entertaining, interactive evening around it. You never know what will sprout, pop, fizzle, or glow. We invite you to discover the science of having fun.
Come learn about the evolution of the cinema – from silent fims, to special effects in modern-day movies. Whether you’re a Charlie Chaplin fan or a Star Wars buff, you won’t want to miss this month’s event. Come as your favorite movie character and munch on some movie snacks – it’s a contest, so dress the part and be prepared to win. We’ll also have a blockbuster movie soundtrack trivia contest, so start brushing up now. So much going on at Science After Dark. See you there.
Join us the last Wednesday of the month!
Ages 21 and older
Cash Bar Available
Admission: $5 per person; members free
August’s topic is: “Taking it to the Extreme”
Do you know any adrenaline junkies? Are you one of them? There are lots of people who seek the thrill of scaling a mountain, rafting through white-capped waters, skateboarding steep ramps, and diving deep mysterious waters. Join us to learn the psychology behind our need for the rush, and the physics of how our bodies can adapt to motion/force/speed. Don’t miss it, because it’s going to be a fun ride!
