The 2nd Annual Meeting Little Rock Lebowski League
The Little Rock Lebowski League is a group of Arkansans who are avid fans of the Coen Brothers film “The Big Lebowski.” Every year, we convene in Little Rock to watch the Dude bungle his way across the big screen. And because we believe that our love for Lebowski is best when shared, we like to invite the rest of Arkansas to watch it with us! At our annual Little Rock Lebowski League meeting, we encourage folks to become urban achievers in a trivia contest and to come dressed as their favorite Big Lebowski character for a chance to win prizes. On Saturday evening, after we watch the movie we head over to Professor Bowl for some spirited frames of bowling (and much to Walter’s chagrin, we DO roll on Shabbos). Jonathan Rosebaum of the Chicago Reader perhaps best sums up the reason why we love this movie, “…the humanist economy of the Coens’ surrealist vaudeville allows for a couple of human beings within the tapestry of freaks.” The Little Rock Lebowski League seeks to live up to that analysis!
